Jeff Bohannon First Sergeant of Marines (Ret) |
I served with CAP 2-1-3 in 1969 through 1970 as CAP Commander, and would like to make myself available to speak to any groups in Florida. Shortly after my return to the States in 1970, I was asked to participate in a group discussion at the Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia. The students asked us questions regarding CAP, and
we had representation from all levels, with me being the lowest ranking member present (Sergeant). However, I was asked the most questions!
I currently speak often to an organization in my area called the "Proud Parents Organization". It is an organization that invites speakers to speak to the parents of potential Marines, the potential Marines themselves, and any interested parties. It provides them with a personal insight with respect to the Marine Corps, and helps them understand what their son or daughter can expect. Please let me know if I may be of service in bringing the CAP Program and it's impact on the Vietnam War into the light.

Barry "Bat" Masterson | I am interested in having my name added the the CAP Marine Speaker's Bureau for the state of Maine. As a teacher, I am particularly interested in speaking with young people (all grade levels) but would be willing to speak with other organizations also. Please advise as to the procedure for being added. As my students would say, "is there like a test or anything?"
I served with HQ Co. 2/7 in a 106 recoiless platoon from 11/67 - 1/68, and as a CAP Marine w/ Delta 3 from 1/68 - 9/68.

Barry L. Goodson | Ft. Worth, TX. I would appreciate the opportunity to be an addition to your Speakers List. I am basically available to travel anywhere with substantial notice. I live just west of Ft. Worth, Texas. Since the release of my book, CAP MOT, I have qiven several speeches in this area in respect to the CAP Marines and their efforts during the War. I am pleased with the interest shown to our little group of Marines. However, I have come to the realization that the truths of our War are still being kept a secret. The High Schools I have spoken in have only a small section of their curriculum devoted to the Vietnam War. Their textbooks portray very little.. .approximately a dozen pages at the most. Nothing is said about "CAP". I firmly believe if we, as CAP Vets, do not tell our story, it simply will never be told. We cannot allow that to happen. This is why I am interested in doing what I can to further the effort. |
