| The view from my radio bunker north to Lai Phuoc. I had forgotten how far the bridge was from Papa 2. In my memory, we stepped out of the compound, headed north and crossed the bridge almost immediately. Not So! |

East from my radio bunker at Highway 1. Left (north) is to Dong Ha; Right (south) is to Quang Tri/Hue City, and points south. This is early, as we can see by the unfinished bunkers. The half-finished bunker in the bottom center is one of the few that I could still identify on my return in 1996. That may have been the beginnings of my radio bunker. |
